How Bike Fits Improve Your Ride
Posture and comfort matter when cycling. Most injuries with cycling are associated with overuse and primarily affect the knee, hip, and low back. The relationship between your bike and your unique body can influence injury risk and cycling performance.
A bike fit ensures that your positioning optimizes your cycling efficiency and aerodynamics. The three contact points of the body (foot, pelvis, and hands) and your bike need to fit correctly to maximize performance and prevent injury. In addition, working with a physical therapist allows for a thorough biomechanical assessment of your posture, range of movement, strength, and coordination for you and your bike.
