Dr. Alex Fitzowich

Chiropractor

Alex is a chiropractor who graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Kinesiology, majoring in Biomechanics. Here, he worked at the Human Performance Lab and published a paper on muscle fiber physiology. He completed his Doctorate of Chiropractic at Palmer West College in San Jose, California, gaining experience with athletes, including providing care at the NFL Combine and for Stanford and San Jose State Men’s Rugby.

Alex’s interest in strength and conditioning led him to train and compete in powerlifting. His experience with elite athletes informs his practice, where he works with track and field athletes, powerlifters, weightlifters, and rugby players in Calgary. He also cares for the Austrian Bobsled and Skeleton team, traveling globally to support athletes during competitions.

Alex’s client care focuses on manual therapy, rehab exercises, and building long-term habits to prevent injuries and enhance performance. His expertise in barbell lifts allows him to offer alternative exercise recommendations. Utilizing muscle work, soft tissue instrument work, and spinal adjustments, Alex ensures optimal body performance. As a former competitive powerlifter and current Olympic weightlifter, Alex is passionate about strength and conditioning, coaching barbell lifts, and supporting athletes in achieving their goals.
